Hwk

Actors: Myself, Mufidur, Lina & etc.
Costumes: Casual clothing, maybe something "out there" (eye-catching) during some occasions.
Settings/Locations: Limehouse area.. Riverside, someones house, alleyways, pfc (fast food restuarant)

Pitch 1: Guy waking up getting ready for another day to go out. Close up shot of his face whilst he is putting make up on. Medium close up shot of him putting his shoes on and walking out the door. Medium long shot of him walking down the streets, catching passers by also in the camera. A view of him and people looking at him and him giving eye-contact back, for that we will use an extreme close-up shot. He is walking by and his eyes are caught by another person like himself also wearing similar clothing & make-up, for that we will use a long shot. When they are looking at eachother and walking past they will be smiling and gliding almost in slow motion, we will use a transition effect for that.

Pitch 2: Guy walking out his front door making his way to the pfc, a medium long shot will be used. He is walking with a big smile on his face and seems very jolly as he is greeting passers by. Then he is patting his belly showing he is very hungry. He glimpses at a fast food restaurant close by. He walks in and orders a very large meal. His meal is ready and he walks out. He is stopped by a few goons and dragged into the alleyway. They beat him up and leave him lying on the floor. One of them come back and take his food. The guy starts to cry "my food" and not at the fact that he got beaten up. There will be subtitles and no speech at times there may be a little tune.

The reasons why we chose both pitches is because it will be easy and very effective to show all of these things. Also the areas we have chosen will also come in handy when we are shooting the scenes. Whats more is that we will be able to use a lot of things such as props or body language to represent something the characters are doing. Not only will it be easy but it will show a clear message to make the audience understand what is going on.

Media Homework

Rush hour
·         Producers and directors name is written in the beginning with Chinese music played in the background. (some parts of the words in the beginning are written in bold for example the directors name)
·        T he main actors names appear while the camera is zooming out from one part of china in  birds eye view and den zooming into the main city of china while the lights of buildings and other parts of china is lit up as it is filmed at night.
·       The title of the films name is zoomed into the middle while the camera is in one position where it shows a boat moving slowly and the city is right behind it. Camera is following a boat into the city, then the camera is aimed onto a different part of the scene where it shows workers moving  boxes onto a boat.
Hot fuzz
·         (POLICE SIRENS RIGHT IN THE BEGINNING) Camera is in one position and the character called Nicholas is walking slowly towards the camera and you can hear his footsteps becoming louder and louder. Writing is appeared below about the producers and the production.  He introduces himself.
·         Camera then zooms out from his shoes while he is walking in an office. Camera then zooms to the side of him while he is walking extra fast. Camera is zoomed into also extra fasted into his face and then zoomed into his shoulder number. He is talking as a narrorator about himself (his education and training as a police).
·         Camera then zooms out and moves swiftly to the right which then gives a blur from zooming out of his shoulder bagde into a different scene which shows him training with fellow officers.
 Bad boys 2
·         A machine is shown close up while it is running. The machine is creating pills as it is going around and around. The camera then goes to a pile full of pills, it starts from one end and finishes to another end full of pills, as the camera is going up to one the whole screen is in a different colour which is blue. The producers name and directors and also the actors names appear in normal writing and then disappears to show a 3d effect writing of the movie title “bad boys 2”.
·         The camera then goes to a different section of pills and starts doing the same as it did with the first pile of pills, starts from one end to another but this time the screen colour has changed to blue. As the camera reaches to one end it zooms out to show that the bags of pills are in a coffin and a man closes the coffin as the camera is zooming out.
·         Now the camera is zooming out from a very large ship and the camera switches angles while it is in a birds eye view shot.
·         The sun is setting and the camera is now zooming slowly into Miami. You can tell the camera man/women is on a boat going in a very fast speed but smooth as the camera is very steady while reaching to Miami.
The comparisons and difference between all three movies
As you can tell that all the producers and directors have had different starts to their movies.  Rush hour has a very calm and peaceful intro and it’s very short of showing different parts of china as it only kept on showing two same parts of the city for a short amount of time. Rush hour mainly got straight to the point. Hot fuzz had a very interesting intro as the camera ,am/women made different angles and different shots of one character, making that character look interesting, with the effects the camera man/women has done within a short amount of time.  The writing was shown below so that it does not come in the way of watching the beginning scene which is important in a movie to understand what is happening. The writing was very simple white and bold for both films. Bad boys 2 has a longer intro scene as it shows different views of the location and showing where the pills where being made and held. The camera had been used in every different angle possible from the beginning it started off with a close up to the machine that makes the pills and then birds eye view of different angles of the ship and then a close up shot of Miami.

My favourite movie! :D

Film/Documentary

I made a film/documentary that revolves around peoples lives, including their struggles, perspectives and how other people stereotype them really easily and make judgement without actually knowing them.

For that reason, I say "don't judge a book by it's cover."

My actual intent behind this clip is to take a look at people differently and see that they are not all bad...

I will be posting the completed video very soon...
